Kumaraswamy was speaking after releasing the first list of 93 JD-S candidates for the election.
The IT department also questioned the various investments made by his family members in India and countries abroad.
"I have been the chief minister twice with your blessings. I have decided that the 2023 assembly election will be my last fight. It is not for me to come to power or become the chief minister," he said.
